MASH Compliant Crash Barrier Solutions
Developed in Australia, the RamShield® range of crash barriers are the latest innovation and advancement in MASH TL3 and MASH TL4 guardrail barrier designs. RamShield® crash barriers have been assessed by the Austroads Safety Barrier Assessment Panel (ASBAP) and accepted by state road agencies in Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East.
RamShield® may be configured with w-beam guardrail or thrie-beam guardrail and features a patented release mechanism that provides controlled vehicle containment and redirection shielding motorists from roadside hazards such as culverts, embankments, trees, and poles.
The simplicity of design has seen RamShield® become the preferred traffic barrier for guardrail installation contractors and road construction companies. The RamShield® posts are driven directly into the ground and do not require concrete.
In addition to MASH crash testing, RamShield® has undergone extensive computer simulation analysis and laboratory testing providing technical advice for designers when installing in non-standard configurations including weak soils, attachment to concrete beams and spanning of underground services.
RamShield® guardrail barriers may be configured with BikerShield™ motorcycle barrier shielding the supporting posts for a dismounted rider and consideration to the safe system approach. All RamShield® traffic barriers are compatible with MASH compliant guardrail end terminals.

MASH Compliant Products
RamShield W-Beam
RamShield® W-Beam achieves a controlled redirection of errant vehicles by releasing the w-beam rail from the post at an optimal load to retain rail height, limit dynamic deflection and to allow the post to collapse without tripping the vehicle.
RamShield High Containment
RamShield® HC, featuring thrie-beam guardrail is a stronger version of the w-beam guardrail systems. The additional corrugation in the rail combined with the higher mounting height, stiffens the barrier and improves its ability to contain larger vehicles.
RamShield Edge
RamShield® Edge is an engineered solution, designed for attachment to RamShield® High Containment for installations on the hinge point of weak batters. RamShield® Edge uses an innovative below-ground pin to restrain lateral movement of the guardrail post, allowing the post to yield by bending proximate to ground level, replicating post performance in flat, well-compacted terrain.
RamShield Median
RamShield® Median features strong section C-posts supporting back-to-back w-beam, providing safe vehicle containment and redirection when impacted from either side of the system.
RamShield Low Deflection
RamShield® Low Deflection combines the sectional strength of C-posts with w-beam to reduces the clearance required between barrier and hazard, an important design consideration for installation on narrow formations.
RamShield Transition
The RamShield® Transition provides a smooth, snag-free connection between steel guardrail barriers and rigid barriers, such as at bridge parapets. The RamShield® Transition gradually increases stiffness of the safety barrier system reducing the potential for vehicle pocketing.
BikerShield Motorcycle Barrier
BikerShield™ Motorcycle Protection Barrier provides safe rider containment and redirection through the combination of spring mounting brackets and lightweight, corrugated panels. The spring brackets attach directly to the guardrail beam mid-span between posts and absorb the impact energy of the sliding rider.
MSKT End Terminal
The MASH Compliant Sequential Kinking Guardrail End Terminal (MSKT) is an energy-absorbing, tangential end terminal, designed to minimise the severity of impacts occurring at the end of the safety barrier system.
CrocGuard
CrocGuard® is a revolutionary bridge & culvert barrier spanning up to 16m between abutment posts. Featuring a unique composite design comprising external thrie-beam rails that encases a concrete core, the system transfers impact loads to the posts at each abutment.
Hammer Beam
HammerBeam™ combines the strength of thrie-beam guardrail with the yielding behaviour of the RamShield® W-Beam post for longitudinal barrier installations along the edge of elevated structures such as culverts or bridges.
