MASH-Compliant Guardrails

As part of Victoria’s Regional Roads Towards Zero plan, new roadside safety barriers were installed along key routes in Romsey to protect motorists and vulnerable road users.

Project Requirements

The project needed barrier systems that:

✔️ Met the updated MASH TL4 standards introduced in 2020
✔️ Protected motorcyclists and vehicle occupants on regional roads
✔️ Could be installed quickly to get workers off the roadside
✔️ Integrated with existing infrastructure without reducing barrier performance

Solution and Outcomes

RamShield® Guardrail was the primary roadside barrier, with BikerShield™ motorcycle protection barriers and MSKT end terminals as secondary barriers. Together, these delivered:

✔️ Advanced protection for vehicles and motorcyclists to MASH compliance
✔️ Reduced installation errors and faster deployment with user-friendly mounting systems
✔️ Durable, low-maintenance barriers for regional roads
✔️ A complete roadside safety solution to Victoria’s Towards Zero plan

BikerShield™ has been proven to reduce risk to motorcyclists, tested in European and MASH crash tests. Back-of-rail mounting ensures correct alignment with RamShield® rails and makes installation easy.
